Take Home our Newest Dog of the Month
For the Month of March We give you Lindy!
Our Dog of the Month for March is Lindy. Lindy is a Chihuahua mix; age unknown. She is roughly 18 pounds of pure cuddly sweetness. Lindy was picked up as a stray with her 5 month old puppy. She was heartworm positive upon coming into rescue, and is currently being treated. Lindy is snuggly, and loving to the members of the family, and she is always trying to find a lap to cuddle in. Lindy is a bit of a watch dog, and will bark at new comers, and even herd them a little by nipping at their heels. However, she does respond well to a firm tone of voice, which will stop the herding. Lindy is very calm and quiet, and is very tolerant of other dogs. Once she gets past the initial barking with new people, she then begins a cuddle session with them in their lap. Lindy is a special soul. She may not be the tiniest or the prettiest, but she is a true keeper and anyone would be very, very lucky to have this sweet girl and receive her gentle kisses and soulful looks. She is getting her first round of heartworm treatment and will be able to be adopted within 50 miles of Bradenton to a person willing to drive her back to the rescue's vet to finish her treatment, which is paid for by the rescue group. Lindy comes to us from UnderDog Rescue of Florida, a local non-profit animal rescue here on the Suncoast, whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary for, and ultimately rehabilitate surrendered, stray, and neglected dogs.
